David Lloyd Leisure and Pure Sports Medicine Raynes Park are joining forces for the Wimbledon Common 10k on 24 September 2011 to offer participants experts in all aspects of health and fitness pre and post the run.

The Wimbledon Common 10k starts at Richardson Evans Sports Ground, Roehampton Vale, at 11am and takes in a scenic off-road course.

Personal trainers from David Lloyd Raynes Park will take runners through a comprehensive warm-up designed to prepare their bodies for the ultimate performance, while physiotherapists and massage therapists from Pure Sports Medicine will be on hand at the finish for expert advice, stretching demonstrations and massage to help them recover quickly and prevent injury. In addition, every runner will receive a goodie bag with discounts on PSM services, a free day pass to David Lloyd Raynes Park and much more.

Andrew Willett, Pure Sports Medicine?s chief executive, said: ?We are delighted to work with David Lloyd in sponsoring this run as we know our services jointly offer the perfect combination for any type of athlete to really reach their goals. While the David Lloyd personal trainers put the runners through their paces, our clinicians are instrumental in injury prevention and rehabilitation.?

Charles Jude, general manager for David Lloyd Raynes Park said: ?We?re looking forward to a great run with a unique offering. Our personal trainers will offer a motivating warm up and encourage them along the way, while PSM experts will offer a wide range of advice on everything from nutrition to identifying aches, pains and niggles. What?s more, every participant gets a free pass to our club so they can have a shower and a sauna and enjoy the facilities after the run.?

On the day, Pure Sports Medicine will also explain their new ?Running Screening ? programme which, for the first time, offers recreational runners the same type of comprehensive musculoskeletal and movement analysis that elite runners undergo. The screening, by appointment only, is ideal for all types of runners, to prevent injury, identify areas for development and optimise performance.
